In the spring of 1999, there was a first sign of a band that would later become Wings Of Fury. Guitar-player Wilbert Beurskens and keyboard-player Marc Wassen decided to start a band named: The Faculty. They started searching for musicians, and in September 1999 guitar-player Tim Oehlen joined the club. In October 1999 (thanks to After Forever!) soprano Miriam Dammers and The Faculty met each other for the first time, and after they had found a good place to rehearse, they started practising. But they still had to find a drummer and a bass-player too. It took a while, but finally in January 2000, Pascal Wilbers (drums) joined and in February 2000, the group was completed by Aryan Wever on bass.
The style of the music by that time was comparable to that of Nightwish combined with Iced Earth but, instrumentally, it had more Thrash/Dark Metal elements. To match the style of the music, they decided to change the name into Wings Of Fury. In that line-up the band has released a studio-demo (Enigma of Life) in September 2001 and a live-demo (Goddess of Delight) in June 2002.
In January 2003 Wilbert (guitars+grunts) decided to leave Wings Of Fury because of personal circumstances. In July 2003, after many auditions, Peter Derks joined Wings Of Fury as a guitarist and Tim took over Wilbert's vocal duties.
Lack of time to combine job and bands caused Peter to leave in May 2004. In August 2004 Erno Noorlander joined as our new guitarplayer. He used to play in a brutal dutch death metal band band called Drowning in Tears, a band that had existed for about 7 years. His style and talent for writing music has been a welcome addition to the sound of Wings Of Fury. This line-up released a new demo called Everlasting Emptiness in September 2005.
April 2006 Wings Of Fury and Pascal parted ways. In October we added a "new Pascal" to our ranks; this time called Pascal Zelen. In June 2008 Aryan and Wings went seperate ways. In September Jordi Gerrits became the new bassist.
